A Google reverse image search of the photo revealed similar images shared by EON intelligence and many accounts on Facebook in June 2021, as can be seen here, here, and here.

The posts claimed the images showed the abduction of students from Federal Government College, Birin Yauri, Kebbi State, in 2021.

A keyword search also led to a The Nation report from October 21, 2021, confirming the release of 28 abducted students and three teachers from the same school.

THE VERDICT

The claim that the image shows the recently abducted Kebbi girls is misleading; the image was from a different occurrence in 2021.
