A claim that a former U.S. President, Barack Obama, was born in Kenya, has resurfaced on the internet.
An X user, @AfricanHub_, made the claim in a post which also featured an image allegedly showing Obama’s birth certificate and his photo.

The caption on the post read:

Similarly, results from a Google reverse image search of the featured image show that former President Obama’s birth certificate was originally released by the White House in 2011.
Our fact-checker observed that the document also listed the birthplaces of Obama’s parents—Kenya, East Africa (father) and Wichita, Kansas (mother) respectively.

Additionally, in the X post, the president’s photo was strategically placed over the “State of Hawaii” texts in the top left corner to cover that part of the document.
