A Google Lens image search identifies the boy as Alejandro Cooper, a talented young actor from Namibia.

The image captures Cooper proudly holding the Best Young African Actor Award, which he received at the 2024 Sotigui Awards, a prestigious pan-African film festival often regarded as the “Oscars of Africa.”

At the lavish ceremony held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, in November 2024, Cooper was honoured for his outstanding performance as young Lukas in Philippe Talavera’s film Lukas.

In his acceptance speech, Cooper dedicated the award to vulnerable children across the continent, saying:

“Lukas is about street kids, and I would like to dedicate this award to all the children in Africa who don’t have a roof over their heads.”
