A claim that a former Super Eagle player, Emmanuel Emenike, divorced a beauty queen to marry another one has resurfaced on the internet.
This claim was shared on Friday, May 12, 2023 by a Facebook user, Adegbenro Adebanjo, in a post on the social media platform.

THE FINDINGS
Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is FALSE.
This is not the first time the claim would make rounds on the internet. It surfaced in May 2018, a week after the footballer got married to his wife, Iheoma Nnadi who won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2014.
The claim was first made by Nigerian recording artist, singer and songwriter, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known by his stage name Reekado Banks when he shared the same quote on Instagram.

Several gossip sites had published Reekado’s statement without reaching out to the couple stating that “It is not certain how true his claims are”.
The Cable had reported that Emmanuel Emenike had told Reekado Banks to delete the post within 24 hours.

The winner of Miss Nigeria 2013 was Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha and the MBGN 2013 was Anna Banner. A look at their profiles shows that there is nothing to suggest that the footballer had a relationship with any of them.
A post about Nigerian female celebrities who married footballers by Leadership newspaper had none of the 2013 beauty queens too to show that he had been once married to them. It only had his current wife’s name.
