The 50-second footage of President Biden speaking in Arabic language is accompanied by a claim that stated thus:

VICTORY TO ISLAM.
ALLAHU AKBARR

Part of the footage’s audio transcribed read:

The verse that I like a lot is very beautiful. It is called du’a Kumayl. I read it every Thursday before going to bed…

Thereafter, he recited the dua in Arabic.

This claim has been forwarded on many closed WhatsApp groups, from where it was retrieved by our fact-checker.

THE FINDINGS

Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is FALSE, as the video has been doctored.

A cursory look at the video shows that the footage was likely AI-generated as the lips and eyes didn’t synchronize with the audio throughout the 50 seconds, a common feature peculiar to AI-generated videos.

Further checks also revealed that the original footage was dubbed from a Biden’s interview with the CBS that was published on TikTok by the New York Post in October 2023.
