A VIRAL video posted on social media by an X user @afrisagacity claims to show Ibrahim Masari, displaying cash meant to be distributed to supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Masari was appointed special adviser to the president on political affairs in March 2026.
The footage shows a woman and a man standing in a room, with bundles of cash stacked on the floor.
The caption accompanying the post states:
“The VIDEO of Ibrahim Masari, Tinubu’s Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters in Nigeria, reportedly openly displaying bundles of cash running into several millions, to be shared with APC supporters.✍️”
As of 10 September 2026, the post had generated over 15,000 views, 500 retweets, and 400 likes.

CLAIM
Video shows Ibrahim Masari openly displaying bundles of cash running into millions to share with APC supporters.
FINDINGS
Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is MISLEADING.
The FactCheckHub observed that Masari does not appear in the video and is not shown personally displaying the cash. Instead, the footage features an unidentified woman speaking in Hausa, with bundles of cash visible on the floor.
The FactCheckHub translated the Hausa audio accompanying the video. The woman says that Masari provided the money for distribution among women, describing it as money for their enjoyment. She states that the total amount is N100 million, with each beneficiary receiving N1 million.
In the recording, the woman also addresses Masari as “father” and expresses gratitude to him. However, The FactCheckHub could not independently establish whether the term was being used as a respectful or honorific reference to a benefactor or in a literal familial sense.
Notably, the translated audio makes no mention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), contrary to the claim in the post’s caption.

While the video footage and cash display are real, the caption provided by the poster misrepresents the context of the clip by claiming Masari himself is shown displaying bundles of money to share with APC supporters.
VERDICT

Instead, it features a woman speaking in Hausa who claims that Masari provided N100 million to be distributed among women, with each beneficiary receiving N1 million.
