CLAIM
A viral video shows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu delivering a recent address to citizens on the economy.

FINDINGS
Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is FALSE.
The FactCheckHub conducted a comprehensive archive search across Channels Television’s official broadcasting channels, website, and social media handles. And the search yielded no record of the media organisation producing or airing such broadcasts recently.
The FactCheckHub observed that the Channels Television logo displayed in the video carries an additional watermark reading “enitanbello”, a text marker that has not appeared in authentic Channels Television broadcasts, suggesting that the video may have been digitally manipulated or fabricated.

A comparative audio analysis revealed that while portions of the speech were extracted directly from President Tinubu’s nationwide broadcast delivered on 31 July 2023, the audio in the viral clip was digitally altered. The creators spliced 2023 audio with AI-generated voice cloning to insert new statements and phrases that were never part of the original broadcast.
Furthermore, In the clip, President Tinubu appears unusually rigid, lacking his characteristic hand gestures, natural head movements, and conversational pauses, giving the entire video a synthetic appearance. The 2023 broadcast video used to manipulate the clip featured different camera angles, and standard Channels Television usual interface, such as headlines and highlights were notably absent in the recent video.

VERDICT
The claim that the video shows a recent address by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the economy is FALSE. Digital analysis confirms the video is an AI-generated deepfake, and no such broadcast exists from Channels Television.
