Old video of domestic homicide in Osun recirculates online

An X user, @Chuks, on April 25, 2025, repurposed a video report about an alleged domestic homicide involving a husband and wife in Osun State, Southwest Nigeria.

The video, originally from ChannelsTV, details how a woman identified as Omotayo Salawudeen allegedly conspired with an assassin to murder her husband after he took a second wife in Ilesa, Osun State. The report also states that both the wife and the hired killer were arrested.

The text accompanying the video reads: “First wife hired people to k!ll her husband because he married a second wife in Osun State.”

The post gained traction, amassing over 115,000 views, 770 likes, and 315 reposts as of April 27, 2025.

CLAIM

An advanced keyword search on the ChannelsTV YouTube page, where the video originated, shows the footage was first published on July 7, 2017.
