THE FINDINGS
Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the image is MISLEADING, as it was doctored.

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Nigerian Army inaugurated a newly constructed barracks in Asokoro, Abuja, which was named after the current Nigerian president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Tinubu commissioned the barracks that day. The Armed Forces residential complex reportedly accommodates 614 apartments, with designated sections for major generals, brigadier generals, lieutenant generals, and corporals.
The project, which began on November 26, 2022, was initiated to address the accommodation shortage faced by the Armed Forces personnel in the FCT.

To verify the photo, our fact-checker observed that the image posted by the X user has the same features with the barracks named after Tinubu, except for its name.

When the photo was subjected to a reverse image search using Google Lens, the results show the original images taken at the barracks’ commissioning event held on January 23, 2025 and published by multiple media platforms including The Nation, NairaMetrics, The Sun, PulseNG and The Guardian same day.
However, a keyword search on Google.com citing “Peter Obi barracks” yielded no related result.
THE VERDICT
The claim that the image shows Peter Obi Okwute barracks in the FCT is MISLEADING; checks show that the image was doctored, as the original image shows Bola Ahmed Tinubu barracks.
